Scope of this Position
Assists with the management of functions in the Human Resources department in accordance with hotel standards, state and federal laws. Enjoys working with people and possesses excellent interpersonal skills. Assists in directing, implementing and maintaing a service and management philosophy which serves as a guide to our associates. Maintains associate files, records, forms, etc. with accuracy and timeliness.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years Human Resource management experience preferably in a 4-star hotel.
Must possess strong computer skills to include: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook programs.
Must be organized and able to multi-task in a busy office environment.
Ability to communicate in English with guests and hotel personnel to their understanding.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred, both verbal and written.
Administer leaves of absence activities, forms, and logs timely and accurately.
Review resumes and prescreen applicants ensuring compliance with Omni standard.
Conduct reference checks according to Omni policy.
Training skills a plus.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Strong interpersonal skills. Able to find solutions.
Knowledge of workers compensation laws.
Knowledge of federal and state labor laws.
Ability to promote positive work relationships with all departments
Ability to be a clear thinker, analyze and resolve problems exercising good judgment.
Ability to focus attention to details.
Ability to remain calm and courteous in difficult situations with associates.
Ability to perform job functions to standards under pressure.
Ability to ensure security and confidentiality of associate and Hotel information.
Ability to work without direct supervision
Ability to work long hours.
Conduct audits on hotel payroll records as needed.
Assist with employee relations activities.
Record and distribut Safety Committee Meeting Minutes.
Attend designated meetings.
Maintain Hotel rideshare and bus subsidy program. Be certified as the Hotel's AQMD transportation coordinator.
