Responsibilities for this Position
Position: Stewarding Supervisor
Department:Stewarding
Purpose: To ensure that all Banquets and other Food and Beverage outlets have the required quantities of sanitized equipment/supplies to meet the business needs of the hotel. To supervise the day-to-day operation of the Stewarding department, control and distribution of operating equipment, maintenance of cleaning and sanitation standards, supervision of all utility, pot washer, dishwasher, and worker assignment tasks.
Reports to: Executive Chef, Banquet Chef, Sous Chef
Essential Functions:
Responsible for the efficient and effective running of the Steward Department ensuring that operating costs are minimized.
To execute company and hotel policies and procedures relating to the Stewarding Department, thereby ensuring that the services provided achieve the established standards of performance, within the agreed budgetary controls.
To advise the Food and Beverage Director on all matters relating to the Stewarding Department.
To be responsible for a high standard of sanitation throughout the Stewarding areas.
Purchasing of all cleaning supplies and equipment for the Stewarding Department
Responsible for storage, requisitioning of all materials and equipment
Taking and calculating of material stock (inventory) as requiredmonthly
Reporting to the Food and Beverage Director all breakage, cleaning supply consumption, etc
Maintaining all equipment to a high standard: Dishwashers, etc, and reporting to maintenance (engineering) any defects
Responsible for all personnel in the Stewarding Department
Responsible for the proper cleaning, organization, rack and distribution of all china, silver, and glassware in the hotel
Disciplines associates within the limits of my authority
Minimize breakage of circulating equipment.
Requirements
Must have experience in kitchen operations
Must have proven ability to lead a diverse team.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evengins and weekends.
Must be able to bend and lift/carry up to 50 lbs fequently.
Must have basic computuer skills
Binlingual in English and Spanish preferred.
