Job Title: It Help Desk Operator
Description

Job Responsibilities :   Reporting directly to the IT Support Team Leader, this role will have responsibility for performing a variety of hardware and software installations, troubleshooting and configuration of desktop/laptop personal computers and responding to IT related questions and requests from internal customers that contact the help desk.  The ideal candidate will be a problem solver who acts with a sense of urgency and can work in a fast-paced environment.  Configure, install and maintain computer equipment including desktop personal computers, laptops, monitors, modems internal personal computer components, printers and other peripherals.    Install, configure and test software per department standards and procedures.    Troubleshoot computer hardware and assist with resolution of trouble calls including network connectivity problems.    Inspect computer equipment, prepare for delivery, and deliver to end user.    Maintain neat and orderly appearance of Computer Room and assist with daily operations.    Maintain records and reports of inventory, configuration history and trouble call tracking systems.    Assist IT department with planned maintenance of servers and systems and other related projects.    Other duties may be assigned.  To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent customer service skills and will be motivated to exceed expectations.  This position offers the opportunity for growth and advancement and Schneider Electric provides a generous tuition reimbursement option for individuals seeking to further their education. 

Job Requirements :  A High School Diploma or GED as well as one year of related experience.  Additional experience and certifications are preferred but not required in order to be considered.  Candidates must have a demonstrated excellence in the areas of: verbal and written communication, problem solving, organization, integrity, customer service and working in a fast-paced environment.  The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of PC hardware and troubleshooting hardware/software issues with Microsoft Windows based desktop and laptop personal computers.  Proficiency in various Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint as well as knowledge of Windows 2000/XP/Vista is highly desired.
