Senior Accountant

Summary of the Position
Will be primary responsible for handling the Latin America accounting reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager.
 
Responsibilities
In this role, the primary responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
  • Primary function will be to support transactional accounting for Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico.  This will include preparing journal entries, preparing wires for payroll and vendor payments, and ensuring our SAP financials stay in sync with the local statutory financials in each country.  Will be primary liaison with local accountants in Latin America.  Will also assist with Brazil trial balance company as required.  May work on occasional other general accounting projects as required as a member of the general accounting team.
Qualifications
·         At least 5 years experience preparing journal entries and reconciling GL accounts.
·         Must have experience with Latin America accounting entries, recording payroll entries, and working with multiple currencies.
·         Must be assertive, proactive, and comfortable taking the lead in discussions (in Spanish) with local accountants and giving direction where required.
·         Must have good oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with co-workers.
·         Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
·         Must be a team player.
·         Must have experience in an ERP system (SAP a plus)
·         BS/BA Degree in Accounting REQUIRED.
·         Bilingual English/Spanish highly REQUIRED.
·         Bilingual English/Portuguese a plus.
